Hi, I’m Nissrine,
Like most women, I wear many hats. Besides being a Holistic Nutritionist and self care advocate for all, I’m also a recipe developer, a plant centric whole food lover, a wife, and a mother (in no particular order), but above all I'm a woman on a life long journey to achieving my own personal ohm. In my spare time, I do laughter yoga and binge watch Grey’s Anatomy, but don’t we all do that?
Holistic Nutritionist, Natural Nutrition Coach, Self Care Advocate, Mother, Entrepreneur, but above all a woman.
As a Holistic Nutritionist my goal is to empower you to eat well and live a more balanced and happy life by educating you about the benefits of natural nutrition and the powerful mind body spirit connection in ways that are relevant to you. I’ll give you the tools you need to make healthy choices and I’ll show you how to make lasting changes to your dietary habits, lifestyle and self-care routine at your own pace and on your own terms. It’s not a quick fix, it takes time, effort, determination and a real change in mindset and everyday habits, but the results are undeniably worth it.

The holisticniss philosophy
how did i get here?
I’m a B.Comm grad from the University of Ottawa in Canada and I spent over 10 years working in marketing and sales in the consumer packaged goods and fashion industries. I had worked hard and achieve all the goals I had set for myself, but I still felt ungratified and more importantly burnt out. After getting married and moving to Italy in 2011, I took a break from corporate life and began teaching English part time while trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up.
Once I had time to pause, I had time to listen to my body, and it was screaming. I started investigating all of the symptons I had been having for months if not years. I spoke to doctors and wasn’t convinced by the meds for life solutions they were offering me. Don’t get me wrong, I think there’s a place for medicine, but I don’t believe it’s the best solution for everything, especially in my case (inflammation, psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis were my main ailments, along with digestive issues, which from a holistic view point go hand in hand, yet medically, they are treated very separately).
I met an amazing macrobiotic counselor who helped me to completely change my diet. I began learning about food as medicine and experienced the benefits first hand. The swelling caused by the psoriatic arthritis in my fingers and the stubborn patches of psoriasis I had almost entirely disappeared. For the first time in my life my elbows and knees weren’t scaly and white. While my strict relationship with macrobiotics only lasted 6 months, I carry many of the learnings with me to this day. It was a catalyst for what came next and I couldn’t be more grateful for that time in my life.
In January 2015, after years of self study, I went back to school officially, at the age of 38, to study Holistic Nutrition. I was hungry to learn more about the inner workings of the human body, the science of nutrition and the mind body spirit connection. I wanted to help others improve their wellbeing, as I had done, through natural nutrition and lifestyle changes.
In the meantime, I became a mama, and began the most exhilirating and challenging time of my life. It wasn’t easy, it still isn’t. I continued my studies and deepened my understanding of myself. I had experienced the power of food as medecine, but at this juncture, I was experiencing the powerful mind body spirit connection in ways that I had never done before, and it was truly life altering.
Throughout all of this, I've learned that:
a) Diet is not one size fits all or set in stone for eternity; the right way to eat is as unique as you are and should change with the seasons and stages of life;
b) Mindset and lifestyle play a huge supporting (and sometimes leading) role in determining the state of our physical and emotional well being; so you can eat all the kale in the world, but if you’re stressed, anxious, depressed, it will affect your outlook and your overall well being on many levels;
c) Sometimes it’s not your fault and there is nothing you can do. You just have to give it time. This doesn’t mean giving up and letting go, it just means being patient and gentle with yourself and giving your mind, body and soul the time they need to get through a rough patch.
Why Holistic Nutrition?
I specifically sought out a program that would train me in the fundamentals of nutrition, including the science behind it, but one that would also train me to recognize individuals as more than the sum of their parts, one that recongized the role of lifestyle, emotional and mental state as contributors to overall health and well being and one that focused on prevention and the notion that food is medicine.
All of that said, things are rarely if ever black and white. There’s a lot of grey and there’s a lot of room for colaboration in that grey area. I’m a holistic nutritionist, not a doctor of medicine, I don’t diagnose, prescribe, treat, heal or cure. I don’t miraculously solve problems and I don’t promote fad diets. What I do is train, guide and support individuals by teaching them the fundamentals of natural nutrition, educating them about the powerful mind body spirit connection and empowering them to set SMART goals that they can achieve (business school really comes in handy here).
I work with healthy individuals who are looking to make changes to their health and wellness by adopting a whole food diet and making changes to their lifestyle, people who need guidance and motivation along the way, people who want to learn how to use whole foods to support a healthy lifestyle.
My services are not a substitution for medical advice and treatment, but they can work hand in hand with your existing treatment plan.

Where did you get your training?
I got my training as a Holistic Nutritionist through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition where I studied the science of nutrition and learned about the powerful mind body spirit connection.
Through my course work, assignments and practical case work, I learned to help individuals achieve their personal health goals and regain balance, through dietary and lifestyle adjustments, more specifically, by correcting nutritional imbalances, utilizing stress management techniques and implementing self-care principles.
I share all of these things and more, in my Free guide and on my blog.
Where did you learn to cook?
Cooking and eating nutritious, delicious food is my passion. I am a self taught home chef and spent years developing recipes that I shared in a food blog and on my Instagram account. I love creating new recipes and using new preparation techniques, but I also love revisiting the classics to make them more nutrient dense without sacrificing their deliciousness. I am inspired by local, seasonal ingredients, my Lebanese heritage, my Canadian upbringing and my love of Italian food and I can show you how to prepare healthy whole food meals and snacks that you and your family will enjoy. Find recipes on my blog, attend one of my whole food cooking classes or one of my holistic nutrition & wellness workshops and events to learn more about cooking with whole foods and the natural nutrition advantage. I also offer private food preparation and cooking workshops for individuals or small groups, send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your needs.
